Batting
$1.50/ounce
Our batting is suitable for either small quilts or felting projects. It contains quite a bit of very small VM (vegetable matter). If you need it for quilting, please let us know what size you need; for felting, let us know how many ounces.
Sheepskin
These pelts are from our yearling Shetland lambs. Click on the thumbnail to see a larger picture.
Goat Milk Soap
At Antiquity Oaks we make our own goat milk soap and natural body care products. To learn more, please visit our Bath and Body website.
Shetland wool
$2.00+/ounce
Our Shetland sheep live in a natural environment and are never confined in buildings. They are 100% grass fed (hay in winter), and our pastures are not treated with anything. They are sheared in the spring, and we skirt our fleeces and wash them (using Palmolive to help cut the lanolin out) before taking them to Wooly Knob in Indiana where Jamie uses his machine to card the fleeces and turn them into roving or quilt batts. No chemicals are used to dissolve vegetable matter (VM) in the fleeces; however, most of our fleeces have very little VM. In the rare instance when a fleece has an unusual amount of VM in it, we will note that in the listing, and the price will be lowered accordingly.
Roving for hand spinners is available starting at $2.00 per ounce plus shipping. We currently have white, many shades of gray, black, a taupe color, and a very, very light brown available. We also have raw fleeces available.
You can contact us with details about how much wool you want and pay with a check or credit cards via Paypal. Read on for specific wools available. All are $2.00 per ounce for roving or $10 per pound for raw fleeces unless otherwise noted. Please be clear about whether you want roving or a raw fleece when emailing.

Chicken -- Fryers (not currently available)
$3.50/pound, whole chicken
$3.75/pound, cut-up
Last year, our fryers were three-and-a-half-month-old barred Plymouth Rock roosters, which are listed on Slow Food’s Ark of Taste and won a taste test against three other heritage breeds, as well as the modern supermarket chicken. Plymouth Rocks are one of the oldest American breeds of chicken and were the chicken of choice on the east coast of the United States for many years. You can expect legs and thighs to be longer, wings to be larger, and the breast to be smaller than supermarket chickens.
Chicken -- Stew Hens
$1.75/pound
Stew hens are a great option for putting in the crock pot in the morning before leaving for work. Stew hens make the best chicken and dumplings, or the meat can be used for any salad or casserole recipe that calls for cooked chicken. Our stew hens spent their entire lives on our farm, running around catching grasshoppers and eating caterpillars, as well as hatching baby chicks. These chickens are usually three to four years old, so the meat is not appropriate for frying or roasting.
Shetland lamb
All whole lambs are sold, but we may have individual cuts available in small quantities after processing. Please contact us if you have any questions. The cuts are small, and the total weight rarely exceeds 25 pounds per lamb.
Tamworth pork
$3.00/pound, whole hog (140-160 pounds)
$100 deposit
$3.25/pound, half hog (70-80 pounds)
$50 deposit
Plus processor fees
Pork is available as a half hog (about 70-80 pounds) or a whole hog (140-160 pounds). Although this may sound like a lot of pork, a whole hog will fit into three picnic coolers. We are currently taking deposits for pigs that will be processed in early 2010. To make sure we have a pig for you, we need a $50 deposit on a half pig or $100 deposit on a whole. Prices will be $3.25 per pound for a half hog and $3.00 per pound for a whole. You also pay the processor $25 ($12.50 for half hog) plus 40 cents per pound for cutting and wrapping the meat. Processor charges may change without notice, since we don't set them. We try to keep this page updated with current prices, but sometimes they change the price, and we don't know about it right away. You tell the processor exactly how you want your pig processed (how much ground meat, what kind of pork chops, hams, roasts, etc.), and you pick up the pig from the processor.
Heritage turkeys
$5.50/pound, range 8 - 16 pounds
$20 deposit
